The Iowa Hawkeyes put their unbeaten record on the line when they visit the University of Pittsburgh. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says the first road game is always a big test for the players. He says it’s important for players to realize that the game is the same, no matter where you are playing.

A Pittsburgh writer this week said Iowa plays "stone-age football". Ferentz says a strong running game and a solid defense is a combination he likes. Ferentz says he’s never been adverse to that formula, as it seems to work, and the bottom line is doing whatever gives them the best way to win.

Ferentz says there are some similarities between these two teams, as he says there are certain things that Pittsburgh does, and does over and over. He says there are differences too.

Kickoff is 11 o’ clock Iowa time.

The Iowa State Cyclones look to bounce back as they visit a UNLV team that is fresh off an overtime victory at nationally ranked Arizona State. ISU coach Gene Chizik says the Cyclone defense must be ready to slow down UNLV’s spread offense as he says they run a lot of the spread scheme, but run it a little different than others.

Chizik says UNLV has an agressive style and comes from everywhere and blitz a lot, which he says poses a lot of problems. Chizik says UNLV quarterback Omar Clayton is a dual threat who can throw and run the ball.

Kickoff is eight o’ clock Iowa time.
