A man from Melvin in northwest Iowa has died as the result of a motorcycle accident on Saturday. The Iowa State Patrol reports that 47-year-old Barry Cammann was southbound on Iowa Highway 60 near Hospers on a 1997 custom motorcycle when he lost control and crossed over the gravel shoulder and entered the west ditch.

According to the patrol, the motorcycle became airborne and Cammann was thrown from it. The Patrol says he was not wearing a helmet. Cammann’s funeral will be held on Thursday, October 9, at 11:00 at the American Lutheran Church in Melvin.
