The name of a Minnesota man has now been released after he apparently took a combine for a joy ride on Sunday in northern Iowa. The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to a residence south of McIntire at around 2:30 in the morning after receiving a complaint of a combine being driven through several yards, striking numerous vehicles and a garage.

Deputies say they found the combine down the road and later identified Dominic Bjerke of Leroy, Minnesota, as the driver. They say he also did significant damage to three residences as well as several street signs and a bridge.

Bjerke faces charges of first offense OWI, third-degree burglary, third-degree theft and criminal mischief. He’s being held in the Mitchell County Jail on $26-thousand bond.
