The Iowa Hawkeyes host Wisconsin in Big Ten action. The Hawks are coming off a win at Indiana and will try to slow down the Badger’s power running game. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says they’ll have to play good team defense, as Wisconsin has a big line with strong guys.

This will be another challenge for Iowa’s run defense. Ferentz says they’ve seen good runningbacks every week, and now they’ll see two more good backs from the Badgers along with the big offensive line. Wisconsin normally has a size advantage in this matchup but the Hawks have matched up well against the Badgers.

The Iowa State Cyclones try to snap a four game losing skid at home against Nebraska. The Cyclones are coming off a sub-par performance in a loss at Baylor and coach Gene Chizik hopes the Cyclones can bounce back with a great effort. Chizik says that’s the way college football goes with teams more even, you can “get whacked” from one week to the next.

Chizik says the Cyclones are still confident, especially with the next two games at home. He says the players don’t think that they can’t win right now. ISU is 2-4.

The UNI Panthers host North Dakota State in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Bison were the pre-season favorites to win the Valley race and Panther coach Mark Farley says they have a talented defense. Farley says they run a 4-3 aggressive defense that is very sound in what they do.

Farley says North Dakota State is a very physical team. He says they are also big and it will be a power game on offense, and probably on defense too. Farley says the Panther fans will need to do their part. North Dakota State has a large and loyal following. They will make their presence known in the UNI-Dome.
