Sophomore Jake Kelly scored 19 points and Iowa took command with a 12-0 run midway through the second half in a 65-46 win over UNI in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes improve to 8-2 on the season.

Iowa coach Todd Lickliter says he thought it would be a challenge and an opportunity to learn lessons and they did. The Hawkeyes trailed 22-15 in the opening half before closing with an 8-0 run to take the lead at the break.

Adam Koch and Johnny Moran each had ten points to lead the Panthers. UNI coach Ben Jacobsen says he thought Iowa played a good basketball game, especially when his team got the game tied. Jacobsen says they couldn’t get over the hump. The Panthers fall to 5-4 on the season.
