Three Iowa companies are being featured at the world’s largest trade show for consumer technology, which opened this morning in Las Vegas. Megan Henning is spokeswoman for the International C-E-S, or Consumer Electronics Show. Henning says the three Iowa companies are among some 2,700 exhibitors gathered at the massive event.

The Iowa companies are: Q-3 Innovations of Independence, which sells personal safety and monitoring devices, Coralville-based Rives  Audio which designs and builds listening rooms and home theaters, and SPAL-USA of Ankeny, which deals in a host of after-market automotive improvements, like replacing crank-up windows with power windows.

Henning says, "Your state is pretty much covering a lot of the industry." She says this is an excellent venue for firms from Iowa and elsewhere to showcase their products and abilities.

"Being able to come to the Consumer Electronics Show is for all companies, big and small, very important," Henning says. "It’s the world’s largest trade show for consumer technology and it attracts industry executives from 140 countries and we bring 4,200 press people from all over the world."

The three Iowa firms have plenty of competition at the Vegas show as some 20,000 new products are being launched during the event.

Henning says: "Being able to come here and showcase your products gives you such a bigger platform. There are analysts here. There are media. It provides a great deal of attention that is certainly necessary to anyone’s business model." The C-E-S wraps up on Sunday.
