A body was found in a vehicle in the rubble of a burning garage last night in central Iowa. Boone County authorities say one person was found dead after a garage fire Sunday in a rural area.

The victim’s name has not been released. The fire call came in around 5:15 P.M. and crews responded to the blaze between Boone and Ogden, just off Highway 30. The cause of the fire appears to have been accidental and is still under investigation.

It’s not clear if the person died in the fire. If that’s the case, it would be the second fire death in less than a week in Boone County.
