The city of Clinton will host the Midwest League All-Star game for the fourth time on Tuesday night. Clinton Lumberkings general manager Ted Tornow says serving as the host will be a great way to showcase the recently renovated Alliant Energy Field. He says they’ve had some wonderful success stories with groups and fans enjoying their renovation.

Tornow says many of the Major League stars of the future will be on display Tuesday night. He’s attended the Midwest League game the last 11 years and says it’s a feast for fans to see the best talent in the league in one place.

The festivities begin tonight with a youth All Star game, and then they will hold a skills competition for the first time ever.

There will contests for throwing accuracy and bunting. Tornow says there will be several events surrounding the game on Tuesday, including a family fun fest which is free of charge.

He says they will celebrate the city and its lumber heritage by bringing in some professional lumberjacks. The last time Clinton hosted the All Star game was in 1998.
