Someone bought a lottery ticket in West Des Moines that’s now worth $1 million.  The ticket was purchased at the Hy-Vee grocery store right across the street from Valley West Mall. 

The winning ticket matched the first five numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing. But it missed the sixth number, which is called the Powerball. Matching those five numbers automatically made the ticket worth $200,000, but the person who bought the ticket spent another dollar for the so-called “Power Play” option, so the ticket’s value increased to a million dollars.
