Central can lock up at least a share of the Iowa Conference title and a trip to the division three national playoffs with a victory at home this weekend over Buena Vista. The Dutch are 8-0 and third ranked nationally and coach Jeff McMartin believes his team is focused on the task at hand.

He says the team knows what can happen if they do things right and win the football game. McMartin says they just need to focus on knowing what B-V will do. The formula for Central has been simple: run the ball and stop the run. The Dutch average 264 yards on the ground per game and give up an overage of only 74.

He says they have been very good at that and haven’t created a lot of turnovers and have kicked the ball well. And that ground game is a big reason the Dutch are converting better than 50 percent on third down. McMartin says they are able to get big yard on first and second down and that is a big reason for the success on third down.

Buena Vista is 4-3 overall and the Beavers have taken advantage of mistakes. They are a plus-13 in turnover margin.
