Iowa falls in overtime, ISU beats Colorado

The Iowa football team took Ohio State to overtime, but where unable to score and the Buckeyes kicked a game-winning field goal to secure the 27-24 win and a likely to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl.

The Hawkeyes were without starting quarterback Ricky Stanzi who suffered an injured ankle in a loss to Northwestern, but redshirt freshman James Vandenberg played well in relief.

Iowa hosts Minnesota Saturday to wrap up the regular season.

Iowa state ended its home season with a 17-10 victory and became bowl eligible by downing Colorado. It was the final game in Jack Trice stadium for 23 cyclone seniors. The Cyclones could improve their bowl chances with a win at Missouri this Saturday.
