School leaders across Iowa are struggling with how to make up for lost days due to so much snow. This past Saturday, students at South Hamilton High School in Jewell attended school for a make-up day of classes after nine snow days this school year. Student Erica Pruisman was none too excited about being in school on Saturday.

“I’m extremely tired,” Pruisman says. “I’m not used to a sixth day but I’d rather be here now than in June.” Another student at South Hamilton, Anna Enabnit shared the same sentiments. Enabnit says, “I’d rather be here today than June because I want to have a long summer and it’s nicer in June and right now, I would just be at home doing nothing.” The South Hamilton students will also be attending classes on March 15th and 16th, what would have been the first two days of their spring break. The last day of school is now set for June 3rd.
