Tip off has been set for 8:37 on Friday night for U.N.I.’S midwest regional semifinal round contest against Michigan State in St. Louis. The Panthers advanced to the sweet 16 for the first time after Saturday’s stunning 69-67 win over top ranked Kansas in Oklahoma City.

A game the Panthers led virtually the entire way. Michigan State was the runner up to North Carolina in last year’s tournament and advanced in thrilling fashion as a three pointer by Corey Looshush beat the buzzer in an 85-83 win over Maryland. The Spartans had led by 16 in the second half before the Terrapins rallied.

Michigan State will likely be without standout guard Kailin Lucas who may have suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Sunday’s victory. Friday night’s first game in St. Louis will match Ohio State against Tennessee. The winners will meet on Sunday for the right to advance to the Final Four.
