The Iowa State women are headed back to the “sweet sixteen” for the second year in a row. After trailing virtually the entire game the Cyclones got a late three pointer from Kelsey Bolte to take the lead for good in a 60-56 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay in Ames.

Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly says it’s hard to describe how hard the game was as he says Wisconsin-Green Bay is a good team and their style of play made it tough to get ready. Fennelly says he wants the players to enjoy the victory. Next up is a visit to Dayton on Sunday to take on defending champion and top ranked UConn. He says he told the team the coaches will worry about getting ready for UConn.

Bolte finished with 15 points and it was an uphill battle for the Cyclones all night after they fell behind 10-0 at the outset. She says they kept saying they needed to step it up and the finally got it done.
