A suspect in a Davenport murder is behind bars in Indiana. Twenty-six-year-old Aki Ross was picked up yesterday in South Bend. He remains in jail there pending extradition. A U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force for had set up surveillance on some people Ross knows in Indiana and Chicago.

Ross is charged with first-degree murder and intimidation with a dangerous weapon in connection with the March 30th shooting death of 18-year-old Joevante Howard of Davenport. Shots were fired and Howard was hit after two groups got into a dispute in the central city. He died several hours later. Already in custody and charged with intimidation in the same incident is 17-year-old Robert Barnes of Davenport.
