Iowa State defensive end Rashawn Parker won’t be involved in contract drills this spring but he is getting ready for next season. The Oklahoma native suffered a season-ending knee injury in the fourth game of the season in a victory over Army and is confident he will be ready for this year’s opener.

Parker says he is ahead of schedule, but has two solid months to go to get back to where he was. Parker has been working to strengthen the knee after surgery and says he will do whatever it takes to get back on the field. He says he is as hungry as he has ever been.

For the most part Parker says he will be watching spring workouts as he will take it easy and concentrating on rehad and the weight room.

The Cyclones close out spring drills with an intrasquad game on April 17th.
