An eastern Iowa school district is advertising to replace an ousted principal. Durant Community School District wants to hire a high school principal to start work August 2nd. In a move that divided the community, high school principal Monica Rouse was suspended last September by Superintendent Duane Bark.

He accused her of 17 instances of wrongdoing, including falsifying student records. The school board then voted to consider terminating her. But Rouse appealed and, following eight days of hearings, an administrative law judge sided with her. He said she should keep her job because the allegations of wrongdoing were not proven. But the school went ahead and voted to fire her.
