A west-central Iowa man was killed Monday afternoon in a motorcycle accident. The Iowa State Patrol says 53-year-old Marvin Danner, of Carroll died, when the 2008 Harley Davidson he was driving collided with a car driven by 54-year-old Laurie Gilbert, of Glidden.
Officials say Gilbert was traveling west on Highway 30 in Carroll, as Danner was headed eastbound. When Gilbert made a left turn onto Bella Vista Drive in her 2009 Chevrolet Impala, she failed to see the approaching cycle, which struck the vehicle and resulted in Danner being ejected.
The Patrol says Danner was not wearing a helmet, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Laurie Gilbert suffered minor injuries and received on-site medical attention.
