A financial advisor in north-central Iowa says Wall Street is making some solid recoveries after last week’s big losses. Jim Tausz, of Clarion, says stocks surged earlier today, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up about 400 points, while the Nasdaq rose about 100 points.

“Having a big down like we had last week and then coming back like we are is obviously showing a lot of market strength,” Tausz says. “Very exciting, because when the market goes down, it brings in buying opportunities and as the market proceeds up, we’re going to see a lot of people making profits.”

The dollar is now at a 14-month high following last week’s violence in Greece, which he says helped push the markets into a spiral.
