Federal authorities are now investigating a gun theft in eastern Iowa. Davenport cops have called in agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to assist. Police responded a little after 3 Saturday morning to a burglar alarm at Dunham Sports on East Kimberly.

They found a glass door smashed. And someone had broken into display cases that had contained lots of rifles. Later that morning a walker on the nearby Duck Creek Bike Path found some of the stolen weapons in the grass next to the path. Surveillance tapes show two burglars. The ATF is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to a conviction.
