The first of two deadlines to enter the youth soccer competition at the Iowa Games is Tuesday. Executive Director Jim Hallihan says June 1st is the postal deadline. He says more than 200 teams are expected to travel to Ames for the competition that will be held the weekend of July 17th.

Hallihan says when they started having regionals, a lot of teams didn’t get to make it to Ames to play, and he says that was discouraging for the. So they’ve restructured to allow all the teams to get to Ames, and the adult soccer and softball have been moved away from the weekend.

Hallihan says teams may register via the mail or on-line at IowaGames.org. The on-line registration deadfline is next Monday.

Hallihan says it may take a few weeks for the schedule to come out, and everything will be done on-line.
