A crash in southwest Iowa’s Adams County last night claimed the life of a Corning woman. The accident happened about four miles north of Prescott just after 5-p.m. The Iowa State Patrol says 20-year-old Lauren Anderson, of Corning died from injuries she suffered when the car she driving was hit broadside by a truck.

Offcials say Anderson was traveling west on 150th Street and failed to yield to an International truck traveling southbound on Quince Avenue. Following the crash, both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch. The driver of the truck, 25-year-old Justin Cooper of Prescott, was not seriously injured.

Anderson was taken from the scene by LifeNet helicopter to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, where she later died. The woman had been wearing her seatbelt when the crash occurred. The accident remains under investigation.
