Class 3A top ranked Carlisle will try to earn a spot in the state softball tournament this evening with a victory over Dallas Center-Grimes in a regional final. The Wildcats beat the Mustangs twice during the regular season.

Carlisle coach Jim Flaws says they haven’t seen their starter pitch against them yet, as she is an eighth grader who throws hard. Flaws has a number of players back from last year’s team that finished as the 3A runner up. He says they have a lot of experience even among those who were not starters last year.
