A central Iowa man will spend 10 years in prison on child porn charges.

In April, 20-year-old Jerry DeAngelo Valdez of West Des Moines pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography in April. He was sentenced today to 70 months in a federal prison.

Prosecutors say a “forensic exam” of the computer Valdez used revealed he’d downloaded and saved over 200 videos and 27 images of child pornography from the Internet. Valdez was nabbed in what’s been dubbed “Operation Wirebreaker,” a crackdown on people who swap files on-line through what are called “peer-to-peer” file sharing programs.
