Fort Dodge authorities recovered a body from the Des Moines River on Thursday afternoon. Authorities are trying to determine if the body is that of 20 year old Tyler Peart of Humboldt.

Peart was reported missing late Sunday afternoon after tubing with some friends along Lizard Creek in Fort Dodge. Since Sunday evening, Fort Dodge rescue crews searched the Lizard Creek area and later expanding the search to the Des Moines River trying to locate Peart.

Family and friends kept a vigil at Phinney Park waiting for any news on Peart’s whereabouts. Webster County Medical Examiner Dr. Dan Cole was called to investigate the identity of the body. It could be several days to confirm the identification.
