One of north-central Iowa’s largest employers has signed a letter of intent to purchase an Indiana-based recreational vehicle company.

Winnebago Industries announced Monday in a news release that it had signed the letter of intent to acquire Sunny Brook Manufacturing of Middlebury Indiana.

Sunny Brook currently produces a number of towable RV products under the Sunny Brook brand name. Winnebago officials say the letter of intent means Winnebago will begin a formal assessment of Sunny Brook Manufacturing with an expected final decision on whether or not to acquire the company by the end of the year.

Winnebago CEO Bob Olson in a written statement says his company is looking into the Sunny Brook purchase as a way to diversify the company.
