A western Iowa man died Thursday morning when his pickup struck an on-coming semi in Harrison County. The Iowa State Patrol says 37-year-old Kevin Bostwick, of Missouri Valley, died at the scene of the crash along U.S. Highway 30, about half-way between Missouri Valley and Logan. Officials say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Authorities say Bostwick was driving a Ford F-250 eastbound on Highway 30 at around 8:45 AM, when the pickup drifted off the edge of the highway. Bostwick over corrected and collided with a westbound Freightliner driven by 69-year-old Rex Kuhlman, of Dow City. Kuhlman was not injured during the crash.

The patrol says Kulhman swerved his semi onto the shoulder in an attempt to avoid the collision, but the vehicles met in the westbound lane. Following the crash, the pickup came to rest on the highway, while the semi was partially in the ditch, with its trailer full of grain left on the road. The accident caused the highway to be blocked for about five-hours.
