A northwest Iowa man has died as the result of injuries sustained in an accident on Monday in Orange City. The Orange City Police Department reports that an initial determination has been made that about 2:15 P.M., 89-year-old Henry F. De Jong of Orange City was attempting to cross Highway 10, when he pulled into the path of a truck driven by 51-year-old Marlin Uittenbogaard of Boyden.

This collision resulted in the truck striking another car, driven by 20-year-old Allie Lanning of Akron. De Jong and Lanning were both transported to the Orange City Municipal Hospital by the Orange City Ambulance Team. De Jong later died at the hospital as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident. Lanning did not have life-threatening injuries.
