A new court date is set for the Minnesota teen who’s accused in last month’s hold-ups and killings of two northern Iowa women. An arraignment date of December 20th in Kossuth County has been set for 17-year-old Micheal Richard Swanson of Saint Louis Park, Minnesota, who was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the deaths of convenience store clerks Vicky Bowman Hall of Algona and Sheila Myers of Humboldt back on November 15th.

Swanson remains in the Kossuth County Jail on a bond of one-million dollars and will be tried as an adult. Kossuth County Magistrate Judge Mark Laddusaw has stepped down or recused himself from the case citing a potential conflict of interest, he works part time at a law firm and declined to give specifics. An arraignment date in Humboldt County was not scheduled.
