The Iowa football team left for Phoenix, today, where they will play Missouri in the December 28th Insight Bowl. It will be a chance for the Hawkeyyes to finish a disappointing season on a positive note. Ranked in the nation’s top ten heading into the season the Hawkeyes lost their last three games and stand 7-5.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says none of them were thrilled by their performance in the last game and are looking forward to the chance to get back on the field and play a better game. He says if they don’t play better, they will lose by 40 points in this game.

Missouri is 10-2. The Hawkeyes have played well in their last two bowl games, both wins, and Ferentz hopes that trend continues. He says they had a poor performance in the first Orange Bowl and did not give them a chance to win. Ferentz says based on experience they have been practicing hard and should be ready to go.
