A former mortgage broker from eastern Iowa will not serve jail time in a mortgage fraud case. Twenty-five-year-old Natalie Long of LeClaire was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Davenport to five years of probation, including eight months of home confinement.

A former mortgage broker in Bettendorf, Long pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud. According to court records, Long assisted two men in 2005 in a scheme to defraud mortgage lenders in connection with loans to purchase two rental properties in Davenport.

The men and their real estate agent are awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to involvement in the scheme.
