Investigators have released more information about a one car crash that killed a central Iowa teenager this week. The crash was reported at 3:25 Sunday morning on an Interstate 35 onramp in West Des Moines.

Police say a car driven by 16-year-old Bryant Lashier of Waukee ran into a concrete bridge pillar. The car caught fire and Lashier was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say after reviewing the scene, the autopsy and conducting interviews with family and friends, they’ve ruled the death a suicide.

Lashier was a junior at Waukee High School who played football, ran track and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
