Kwadzo Ahelegbe scored 21 points and Anthony James added 20 as U.N.I. claimed a hard fought 77-74 win at Wichita State in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Panthers were efficient on offense. They connected on 57 percent from the field and committed only six turnovers.

Panther coach Ben Jacobsen who says the U.N.I. guards controlled the game at crunch time and were patient and determined with the offense. He says the last six minutes when the game is close they stuck with it and were patient and move the ball the way they needed to.

Jacobsen says everyone had a hand in the victory with big shots when they needed them through the game and late when things were close.

The win was the fourth straight for the Panthers who improve to 5-3 in the Valley and 14-6 overall.
