U.N.I. has now won eight in a row after a 53-51 win over Illinois State. The Panthers hit 5 of 6 free throws in the final 33 seconds to hold off the Redbirds. Sophomore guard Anthony James recorded his first double-double to lead U.N.I. with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
U.N.I. is tied for second place in the Missouri Valley Conference at 9-3 in the conference and 18-6 overall.
