A family-owned business in northwest Iowa that’s known for its ice cream products is making a name change. Wells Enterprises is the new legal name for Wells’ Dairy, the ice cream and frozen novelty-maker.
According to Wells spokesman Dave Smetter, Wells Enterprises continues to reflect the family ownership of the Le Mars-based company, but eliminates the word “dairy.” Wells sold its fluid milk and yogurt parts of the business more than two years ago. Wells Enterprises’ products include the Blue Bunny brand.
