After 17 years at the helm Northwestern College women’s basketball coach Earl Woudstra is stepping down. Woudstra had a record of 403-139 including four NAIA Division II national championships, including back to back titles in 2010 and 2011. He was named the national coach of the year after each championship.

Woudstra says he is looking forward to teaching a little more and says it is a good time to “wait on God a little bit and see where he is calling me.” Chris Yaw will take over as head coach. He served as Woudstra’s top assistant the last seven years. Yaw says it will be a special opportunity and challenge to continue to pursue excellence while remaining humble.
