Those who have gone organic with the food they eat are starting to find more choices for enjoying a beverage with their meal. Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division spokesperson, Tonya Dusold, says organic liquor is a growing trend.

Dusold says they now have eight organic vodkas, regular and flavored on their list, along with two new cordials and four new liquors that are all organic. She says they’ve seen nine or 10 new organic products come through in the last few months. Dusold says the various companies that supply alcohol to the state are exploring the organic market.

Dusold says they’ve seen new brands come out as organic and older brands talk about expanding into the organic line. She says they have one line that has seven different organic vodka selections including, regular flavor, double-chocolate, lemon, grape, orange, vanilla and peach.

The organic alcohol producers must use grains grown without pesticides, fertilizers or genetically modified seeds to be certified organic.
