Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads will not name a starting quarterback for next season at the end of spring drills. Jerome Tiller and junior college transfrer Steele Jantz are part of a four-man battle to replace Austen Arnaud as the starting signal caller. He says all four candidates for the job have had their days and all four have had time where they had misses.

Rhoads says Tiller will play in Saturday’s spring game despite the sore elbow. He says Tiller hasn’t missed practice, but hasn’t been full strength. Rhoads says the advatage Tiller has in the competition is his knowledge of the offense.
