Two homicide investigations are underway in eastern Iowa. A 70-year-old man is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a woman in Washington County.
Thomas Lee Hansen was arrested shortly after sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of gunshots Sunday afternoon at a home southeast of Riverside. The victim is identified as 54-year-old Sharon Gerot. Few other details about the case are being released.
In Cedar Rapids, authorities have identified a cab driver killed late Friday night as 54-year-old Cathy Stickley. She was found in an alley on the city’s southeast side. There’s no word yet on the cause of death. An autopsy has been conducted, but the results have not been released. No one has been arrested in the case.
