“The Donald” is still keeping Iowa Republicans guessing.

Real estate developer Donald Trump, the star of his own reality TV show, made clear on Monday that his flirtation with the race for the White House was just that. He is not going to run for president.  Trump had agreed to “headline” an Iowa G.O.P. fundraiser on June 10. It was to have been his first visit to the state.  Republican Party officials released a statement on Monday saying there’d be an announcement Tuesday as to whether Trump would still appear at the event.

But Tuesday has come and gone, with no answer. A Trump associate told a Des Moines television station Trump won’t make the call ’til Monday. If Trump is a no-show, it would give the party just 18 days to try to find another big-name headliner for its fundraiser.

The party’s website still features a huge picture of Trump on its homepage, touting “An Evening with Donald J. Trump” in Des Moines.
