Flames lit the midnight sky in a northeast Iowa town overnight. Fredericksburg firefighters responded to the scene of a fire late last night that damaged the town’s lumber yard.

Firefighters from New Hampton, Lawler and Fredrika responded to help put out the fire at Superior Building Center/Fredericksburg Lumber on Highway 18.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined or just how much damage occurred, but firefighters confirmed that a pickup truck burned in the blaze along with stacks of lumber. No one was injured in the blaze, which closed Highway 18 through out the night.
