A New York congressman is mired in controversy after admitting he sent graphic photos of himself to several women using Twitter. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, a Republican who’s known as one of the top tweeters in Washington D.C., was asked by a reporter if Democrat Anthony Weiner should resign.

“I think that that’s a standard that’s been set pretty much by his own political party for other people who happen to be Republicans,” Grassley said.

Grassley spoke with reporters on a telephone conference call early this morning, and he said the Weiner scandal won’t make him rethink the way he uses Twitter. “No,” Grassley said, “because I don’t send pictures.”

Some Democrats are calling for an ethics investigation of Weiner, who initially claimed his account had been hacked, but who yesterday admitted that was a lie and he’d sent the pictures himself. Weiner, who’s married, said he exchanged graphic photos with six women over Twitter and Facebook, but says he had no physical relationship with any of them.

Grassley’s latest tweet was sent yesterday.  During a recent trip overseas, Grassley kept his Twitter followers abreast of his activities by his tweets.
