Minnesota teen, Michael Swanson was sentenced in Webster County this morning for the Humboldt County portion of his conviction in the shooting of two convenience store clerks. Swanson waived his right to appeal in the first-degree murder and first-degree robbery conviction in the death of Sheila Myers.

The sentence was mandatory life in prison without parole. The judge did rule that the sentences should run consecutively and Swanson must pay the sum of $150,000 in restitution to the heirs of Sheila Myers.

Written victim impact statements were read in court by two daughters of Sheila Myers and her husband. Swanson is expected to change his plea in a hearing in Algona today before a second murder trial starts in the death of Vicky Bowman-Hall of Burt.
