Jerome Tiller hopes experience helps him land the job as Iowa State’s starting quarterback. The junior is battling junior college transfer Steele Jantz and redshirt freshman Jared Barnett for the job.

Tiller says he feels good, but it’s not his decision. Tiller on what he believes it will take to win the job, and he says he has to show the coaches he is capable every day not matter how tired or hurt he is.

Tiller says he worked hard in the summer to get better. He says he worked on the flaws in his game.

Jantz says the competition makes all of them better as they have to do their best every day. After taking part in spring practice Jantz does not feel like his knowledge of the offense is lacking. He says he is in a good position, and while he needs to keep learning, he feels good about where he is at.
