Police are investigating early morning shootings in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. Des Moines police were called to a home on the city’s southwest side just after midnight. A woman told officers she heard several shots fired and a man inside the house was bleeding. The shots came from outside the home.

The victim, who’s name has not been released, is hospitalized in critical condition. No one has been arrested. The shooting in Cedar Rapids was reported at 1 a.m. in the 1700 block of 6th Avenue Southeast. Officers found a man who’d been shot and he was transported to a hospital. There’s no word on his name or condition and no arrests have been made.
