Police have arrested three people in connection with the murder of a Mason City man at a convenience store late Monday afternoon. Police Chief Michael Lashbrook says they’ve arrested 31-year-old Jamaal Leslie and charged him with first-degree murder.

Leslie is accused by police of shooting 27-year-old Brandon Crawford after a brief argument near the Casey’s at 813 North Federal. Crawford was taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa where he was later pronounced dead.

In addition to the murder charge against Leslie, police have filed charges against 24-year-old Winsdell Lamb and 46-year-old Donya Lee, as being accessories after the fact, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Lamb and Lee are alleged to have been involved in trying to withhold information related to the investigation. Both have been arrested and are currently in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
