The Iowa State Cyclones will try to stay unbeaten as they play a rare Friday night contest at UCONN. The Cyclones are 2-0 after a triple overtime win over Iowa and take on a UCONN team that is 1-1 under first year coach Paul Pasqualoni.

The Huskies have featured three different quarterbacks this season and ISU coach Paul Rhoads says that has made preparation even more difficult. He says they have different defenses to stop the three different quarterbacks, and he says they also have a physical running game.

The game will be televised by ESPN2 and Rhoads says that will be good for the program with “tremendous exposure” across the country.

Rhoads says finishing the non-conference portion of their schedule unbeaten would be a huge confidence boost. He says any time you win your confidence builds and when you build your confidence, you play better football

Rhoads says the Cyclones will need to play well to come away with a win as he says it’s a tough place to play where the fans make a lot of noise. Rhoads has coached at UCONN before when he was an assistant at Pitt and he hopes that will help the Cyclones. He says he likes to keep the team informed and he says he can explain the locker set up and the stadium and that will help them respond.

Kickoff is seven o’clock Iowa time.
