Officials in Fort Dodge say the formal filing of first-degree murder charges against an Oklahoma woman accused in the death of a newborn baby has been delayed. In a news release, Fort Dodge Police say that 31-year-old Hillary Tyler has not been booked into the Webster County Jail because of medical reasons.

Tyler was scheduled to have made an appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Wednesday but did not make her initial appearance. On Tuesday morning, Fort Dodge Police responded to a call of finding a baby’s body in a room a the Super Eight Motel. An investigation revealed the baby did not die of natural causes.

Tyler was taken into custody later in the day on Tuesday.
