Several questions remain about a fatal fire Friday in northeast Iowa. Authorities are investigating an incident in which the body of a Fayette man was found outside a burned out building.

Emergency workers found a small structure in the rear of the property engulfed in flames and were able to knock down the flames. While working to put out hot spots, they found a completely burned body on the ground. The victim was identified as 55-year-old Ron Lee of Fayette.

The Fayette County Sheriff says the death does not appear to be suspicious, although it remains under investigation. Lee’s body was sent to the state medical examiner in Ankeny to try and determine the exact cause of death.
