A little piece of “heaven” in northeast Iowa is being sold as the “Field of Dreams” movie site has a buyer. The owners of the property near Dyersville have announced they’ve accepted a bid from an investment group called Go The Distance Baseball LLC.

The group plans to preserve the movie site, including the original baseball diamond and the farmstead, while building a baseball and softball complex elsewhere on the property. The purchase price hasn’t been disclosed but the original price, when the property went on the market in May of 2010, was $5.4-million.

Don and Becky Lansing say they’d gotten several inquiries but they were committed to finding a buyer who would preserve the site’s legacy.
